Discovering Dad: Spotlight On Dads - Joeprah

  • jnbammer · 1 year ago
Joe and I have the same birthday! Only, I'm a little older and wiser ;-)
  • Joe · 1 year ago
    Older perhaps...
  • Huckdoll · 1 year ago
Seriously awesome, Joeprah! You're an inspiration, even to the moms. Props to you and Jeremy.
  • jnbammer · 1 year ago
    I agree - very inspirational!
  • Joe · 1 year ago
Huckdial, thanks for the props. It's funny, you remind me of some of my cool playgroup moms. They say things like, "you're a better woman than I am." or "you're so gay" which means the same thing...I hope.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, I LOVE it when Joeprah actually writes.

I gobbled up every word of that.

    Well done Joseph!.
  • Joe · 1 year ago
XBox, thanks man! I really do try to actually write all the time, but I totally know what you are saying. Wish you lived closer so we could discuss it over a beer or twelve.

That was a very nice interview. When I noticed the spotlight was on Joe I wondered if the interview was going to be laden with jokes. While Joe does a nice job on the humor side of things it is good to learn a bit about the guy without the clown mask on (absolutely no offense intended).

Thanks for being open Joe. Really good stuff.
  • jnbammer · 1 year ago
I agree 100% Chuck - really liked seeing a different side of Joe!
  • Joe · 1 year ago
Wow, Am I a clown to you? Am I here for your amusement? Is that what you're saying? LOL, couldn't resist the Good Fellas take off. Maybe I should submit to being more open on my site...stay tuned?

I'm sure I win the "old" contest guys.

I love what Joe said about being "feminized in a way" and that it's "a good thing". You can see the respect he has for his wife and girls, and can grasp what a great Dad he is because of it. In return, his readers (I'm a daily one) have a lot of respect for him. Not really for his hair-brushing techniques, but for him as a Dad. Joeprah rocks!
  • jnbammer · 1 year ago
    Well said Momo!
  • Joe · 1 year ago
Momo, you too remind me of my cool playgroup moms, and like I said before, you're my hero. I really appreciate your comment here. What can I say? I love my ladies and they need respect. Also, for not having any hair experience for like 25 years I think I am doing dam good. :D
  • pete · 1 year ago
    Yeah, Joe rocks!

Great post! It's so nice to get to know you a little better, Joe! "Spotlight on Dads" is a terrific concept! Keep up the great work, guys!
  • Joe · 1 year ago
Stacey, I am glad you wanted to get to know me better. I am very honored people out there really care like that. This is just awesome.

I'd like to add to Joeprah's comment about hoping that our girls are in an even fairer world when they grow up. I have two kids, both girls, and being a Dad and in particular a SAH dad has really made me want them to be all they can be. I hold their mom as a great example, she can do it all. Got an Ivy League degree, followed by a Masters and then promplty quit to follow me around the world and raise our kids. She is extremely talented and its her turn now. I've had my day in the sun so to speak. I want to my girls to grow up to be just like her...great at raising kids and being able to support the family financially.
  • jnbammer · 1 year ago
The total package! I think we all want that for our kids!

Great interview Joe, and kudos to you once again Jeremy. Here is another great dad blog that I have not been to before. This series has exposed me to several dad blogging brethern. Seems like Joe is one of the fist interviews who actually has a guy life outside the house though. Say it aint so, Joe! I really need to get out more.
  • jnbammer · 1 year ago
Thanks James! Definitely check out Joe's site - good stuff!
  • Joe · 1 year ago
Thanks James! I hope to see you around the house of Joeprah. I really think that is first time someone said I have life. :D
  • NukeDad · 1 year ago
Joe's actually holding out on us. He's a closet billionaire who owns a yacht. or two. I have the pictures to prove it. Think Thurston Howell The 3rd from "Gilligan's Island". Seriously, though, Joeprah's blog is one ot the first ones I found when I started blogging, and one that I wanted to emulate. There is something to be said about someone who can make poingnant observations while making you laugh at the same time. Joeprah does it daily. Keep up the great work, my friend!
  • Joe · 1 year ago
Nuke Dad is right, I am amazing. He is correct to emulate me, but the scary part is he is way smarter and probably even funnier. :D

Another excellent Spotlight. Joeprah is awesome and now I know much more about him. Although, my wife is really jealous of his house full of girls. She wants a little girl so bad. Hopefully the next one.

As usual, I look forward to reading the next Spotlight.
  • Joe · 1 year ago
Thanks Jason for checking out my interview. I hope your wife gets the girl she wants. Happy Mother's Day to her BTW.

All Hail Joeprah! Or at least give him a well-deserved high five. I think all of the dad bloggers I know owe at least part of their success and/or recognition to him. He is tireless in helping us get recognized for what we do (playing dad and blogging). And I had to crack up at "keeping a straight face when disciplining." HOW TRUE.
  • jnbammer · 1 year ago
    High Fives all around!

Great interview! Jeremy, you have a lot of great ideas that really keeps your site fresh...Spotlight on Dads is really cool.

Joeprah, sorry I'm a little late in commenting....Mother's Day put me behind a bit. Anyway, I'll be stopping by your site frequently. Good stuff!
