Discovering Dad: Spotlight On Dads - James Grayson

  • PG · 1 year ago
Good stuff. James rocks. I don't know I would be blogging if not for James. He hooked me up with a cre8buzz invite back in the day and the that's when I really got the bug. Oh, and could his daughter be any cuter?!?

Thanks, Pat! You are an awesome blogger and I'm glad that you jumped in with full force!

QuirkeeJ is a class act and all-around great guy, on and off his blog. Takes great pics and raises cute kids too.

And damn you for making me think about donuts!!!!! (But thanks for the mention too, I never even thought about the whole working dad blogger v stay at home dad blogger thing till you mentioned it.)
  • QuirkeeJames · 1 year ago
Jim, if I could find a way to FTP you some River City Donuts, I would!
  • jnbammer · 1 year ago
I could use some too man!

Great interview! I'm a little jealous of James, he gets to eat ribs at The County Line and I can only dream about it! Keep up the great work!
  • jnbammer · 1 year ago
Yeah - I love the restaurants and clubs in Austin too Nuke - James is definitely a lucky guy!
  • QuirkeeJames · 1 year ago
Thanks! The County Line is good but the ribs at the Salt Lick are awesome. Just like their BRISKET!

Another great interview Jeremy and James! James, I have not been to your site yet, but will be checking it out soon as it sounds interesting. BTW, I am a full time working dad and have managed to keep up my blog which I started on 6 weeks of Paternity leave. It was tough at first to blog and work full time, but I think I have found my rythem.

    Viva la Dad Bloggers!

Very glad that you've found a way to keep it up James - for anyone who doesn't know, James was the first dad to be featured in the Spotlight on Dads series.
  • QuirkeeJames · 1 year ago
James, been meaning to check out your blog. Glad to hear you have found a rhythm to keep it going!
  • jason · 1 year ago
Thanks for the introduction to Quirkee James. I'll definitely be checking out his blog and magazine.
  • QuirkeeJames · 1 year ago
Jason, just checked out your blog. The elephant humping the zebra is hilarious!
  • Whit · 1 year ago
Great interview. Nice to see James take the questions for a change.
  • QuirkeeJames · 1 year ago
Thanks, Whit! That means a lot from the first one in the Daddyshack. You set the bar, my friend.
  • Ed (zoesdad) · 1 year ago
I'll echo some thoughts already stated about James being a great guy and a good friend. I can't say thanks enough for the opportunities he has provided me in my short tenure as a blogger. He's the kid of guy that pushes you to be a little bit better than you think you are (than you actually may be) yet remains supportive and encouraging. That's a rare talent. Thanks, James.

    Jeremy--another great interview.

Thanks, Ed! I'm glad to have crossed paths with you when I did. Your writing is fantastic! Keep it up!

I haven't taken the time to get to know James but I enjoy his posts each time I run across them. This interview was another in a great series. For what it's worth I'm another working Dad that tries to do the blogging gig. The niche does seem to have quite a SAHD following. Nice to get to know you James.
  • QuirkeeJames · 1 year ago
Thanks, Chuck! Keep the blogging going. More insight from working dads is needed!
  • James · 1 year ago
Chuck, is your middle name James? I was beginning to think the working dad blogger gig was a Jim thing.
  • QuirkeeJames · 1 year ago
If it's not James then I motion for a name change!

    Who's with me?
  • Joe · 1 year ago
QJ is awesome. He is funny, his sites rock and although his chat box is totally disco-70ish-old-school, I consider him to be a close friend. No surprise that this SOD was awesome. Cool pics too. BTW, I too worked at Fridays, and so did my wife...restaurants breed relationships. Peace!
  • QuirkeeJames · 1 year ago
Joe, you should probably take back that comment about my awesome chat box. Now that I have editor privileges on your site I could do some serious damage.

About the only good thing that came from working at Friday's was my wife!

Another cool addition to the series! And I totally dug the Mean Joe Green story....pretty cool. Did you keep the towel or what?
  • QuirkeeJames · 1 year ago
Yep! He wears it around sometimes when he's playing football in his Cowboys jersey.
  • dadofdivas · 1 year ago
I had thought about doing something like this the other day on my blog...thanks for some great interviews! I find it interesing to see how all of the dads respond to your questions! I look forward to checking out James' blog!
