It's good to be a diehard fan of a team, and I'm sure if she really wanted to do something different that you would. Thanks for sharing it with us!

Re: Our Ninth Anniversary - What a Wonderful World

Congratulations, start saving for # 10 :)

My wife and I just celebrated our 5th this past year...and where was I? At a football game. :) OK, before all the women hate me, there is a story behind it. I love college football, it is one of the things my wife has accepted, mostly because she grew up with a father who is a die hard Aggie (Texas A&M) fan, ex Vice Chancellor, etc...so sports was big to him, so she was used to is. Her whole family bleeds maroon and white, and she is from Bryan, Texas, home of Texas A&M. Then she met me, and I, as it turns out, am a HUGE Texas Longhorn fan (their rivals)....call me the burnt orange sheep of the family. As we planned our wedding, we looked at the schedules for both schools, and chose the only Fall weekend they both had off, the weekend before the annual rivalry game, November 23rd. Well, as it so happens, we usually spend Thanksgiving in Bryan, with me and her dad, and uncles and aunts and whole family - they sporting maroon and white and me, well, you guessed it, proudly wearing my Burnt Orange - all go to the football game the years it is in Bryan. As we started to plan our 5th anniversary, 2 things real obvious, real quick. 1) Things were tight with 2 businesses, a 2 year old, and a new house and 2) our anniversary was the day of the big game this year. My wife, having been raised by a die hard football fan, accepted this, and I spent our anniversary, at the game...with HER family. We also took advantage of having Meme around and they kept our son while we did get a chance to enjoy a nice romantic dinner at a nice restaurant afterwards....so I wan't a complete heal.

I also realized we will run into the same issue every 5 years...the big ones. So, I guess we will have to deal with the 10th, 15th, etc...as they come...for now, the football gods have granted me a slight reprieve...the game has been moved back to Thanksgiving day now..so it's off the 23rd....for now.

Re: Our Ninth Anniversary - What a Wonderful World

I tell you even the viseo is quite a memorable thing...it makes me want to do something similar. Hope she is doing well.
My husband and I celebrate our 7th wedding anniversary in July. (Much longer than either of our first marriages lasted). We are lobsters too! We'll probably have a family weekend away, though I admit, it would be nice to have a naughty weekend without the kids! I don't think that's going to happen though...

Re: Our Ninth Anniversary - What a Wonderful World

Thanks Jason!

Re: Our Ninth Anniversary - What a Wonderful World

Trust me, we know the feeling!

Re: Our Ninth Anniversary - What a Wonderful World

Thanks James! I'm sure having 2 reasons to celebrate on the same day will make for a good reason to do something extra special for the 10th!

Re: Our Ninth Anniversary - What a Wonderful World

Thanks Jim! Lori and I used to have a lot of fun for Halloween parties with friends, then we all had kids around the same time and, well, things have changed somewhat (i.e. we don't put on caveman outfits and fishnets)! Let me know when you post about it - love to read it!

Re: Our Ninth Anniversary - What a Wonderful World

Did she secretly want the GPS unit for you? That's what Lori would do to me! A cruise sounds nice, but man would I be in good if I could swing a trip to Hawaii. Thanks Phil!

Re: Our Ninth Anniversary - What a Wonderful World

Good minds think alike (with all of the anniversaries close to the end of May - it wasn't too hot and it was great timing for a honeymoon)! I haven't seen that movie James - we'll have to check it out. Thanks!

Re: Our Ninth Anniversary - What a Wonderful World

Congratulations Dana! Nine years does go by fast man! Also, thanks for the thumbs up on the video - that means a lot coming from a Director! ;-)

Re: Our Ninth Anniversary - What a Wonderful World

I love Seattle! I used to go there several times a year for work, and we stayed in the Westin (awesome!). It's definitely nice to get some time alone every once in a while, as you said, to reconnect. Thanks Kate!

Re: Our Ninth Anniversary - What a Wonderful World

Hey Ashley! Yes, a lot has happened this past week while you were gone, but it sounds like you had a blast! We've never been to Sandals, but we'll have to look into it for the future. Good idea! I'll swing by your site to look at the pics. We just went to dinner, then back to the hospital tonight. Caitlin looked so much better today, so we wanted to get back to her.

Re: Our Ninth Anniversary - What a Wonderful World

Thanks Tony! I know what you mean - I think the best gift I ever got Lori was a facial machine from Wal-Mart that she uses all of the time. Good gifts don't always have to be big and fancy - thoughtful is better, right?

Re: Our Ninth Anniversary - What a Wonderful World

Thanks Lindsay! I love Miami Beach - we went twice last year and had a blast (once with kids, once without). Today was a special day for us, and I'm sure we will remember it!

Re: Our Ninth Anniversary - What a Wonderful World

Thanks so much Jessica.
