I subscribed to your feed. I'll probably write a post on frenzied daddy as well; it's the season to be doing that.

My dad taught me the difference between getting there and being there. My favorite part of going fishing wasn't the time we spent walking through the woods or standing by the river throwing in lure after lure and reeling in snag after snag, but the time we spent in the car, singing our road songs.

These same road songs I sing to my daughters at night, helping them get to sleep. Well, the preschooler anyway, the elevenyearold gets her own self to sleep.

Indulge every once in a while. It benefits you in the long run. Life about doing the right thing, but sanity is about doing the fun things.

Happy Tuesday! I subscribed to your feed via my Yahoo page and your newsletter! When I was a very young girl, Dad and I spent a lot of time outside. He was always working in the yard. One day I was playing around while Dad was weeding. I exclaimed to him, "Dad, I found a big fishing worm!"

One important thing my father taught me was the value of people, no matter who they were and what they did. He was a plant manager at an aluminum extrusion factory for many years. When he walked through that factory he knew everyone's name, and he always seemed to find himself rolling up his sleeves to help out guys that needed an extra hand. He was well-respected because he didn't put himself above his team. Respect your fellow man. Don't be afraid to get your hands dirty.
