Discovering Dad: Discovering Dad Diet - Ode to My Bubble Butt

  • BusyDad · 1 year ago
Do these jeans make my butt look big? haha! We're just as bad as they are, aren't we? Hey, a pound is a pound and that's a start. Way to go! Looking at your diet, I bet if you only changed ONE thing, you'd see a huge difference. Switch your lunch with your dinner. I have found that there are 2 things that help you drop weight the quickest: running and eating like an ant at night. Give your body the whole day to digest those sandwiches. Don't let em sit in your stomach as you sleep (they just go to your gut/ass). Go to bed hungry and you'll wake up light. Trust me man, it WORKS.

Thanks man! I guess I feel a tiny bit better about things. I appreciate the advice too!

LOL! I just love your sense of humor. You give me reason to laugh during a normally boring day. :)

Keep it up, you'll get the weight off. :)

    If only humor burned calories!

Wow...that's a lot of diet soda and coffee. Is that in one day? I only have one cup of coffee per day and I think I probably have only one diet soda (regular gives me headaches) per week, if that. I actually went three years without any soda, but recently started drinking them again, though not too often. I don't know if it's because we live in one of the driest climate on Earth, but we drink primarily water.

An exercise plan may help you in your quest. I know it's hard to find time. I definitely have that problem.

    Good luck to you.

Yes, I'm a caffeine addict. I was a District Manager for Starbucks for many years, and it's been hard to shake the habit. I didn't used to drink much soda, but my wife is all about Diet Pepsi so it's one of the few things we always have cases of on hand. I should be more like you and switch to water, but I get headaches if I don't drink caffeine now! No win!

I definitely need to exercise more to bust the butt - need to make the time!

Junk in the trunk has never been my problem. I have no ass to speak of at all. It's all beer gut for me.

I'm no expert, but all that caffeine is probably not helping you out. I don't drink coffee so easy for me to say, but maybe cut back a bit, I don't know.

And I think you have the right idea on exercise. Just be more active. That way it's something that is sustainable. If you were to go hog wild and start an exercise routine that you would wind up dropping a month later you are gonna wind up putting the pounds back on. Park further way, take the stairs, etc etc.

Don't scoff at a pound, it will start coming off if you stick with it.

Thanks PG! Caffeine is going to be really hard for me to give up, but I did switch to water after 6 p.m. today. I also did more exercise - push-ups, toddler presses, sit-ups, walking, but it was like you said, mostly worked into and throughout the day to keep the body active. I guess a pound is a pound is a pound, so I should be happy with it.

I have no idea if this is a load of crap or not, but my friend said this is a strategy used by atheletes -- if you can ignore the ugly ass webpage design, check it out. I'm half tempted to try it. Oh, and my friend said she lost 8 pounds last week using this...so who knows.
