  • jnbammer · 1 year ago
    Wow me man! Video post?
  • Mr Lady · 1 year ago
Well, I've found the bast things that bring out the kid in me are, in this order, a long walk, a mug of raspberry tea with black colhash in it, and sex if I must. Also, excersise balls help. And pitocin. That REALLY gets the kid out of me.

    Wait...whaa? Oh, crap.
  • Christine @ Serenity How? · 1 year ago
Oh crap is right! I just read Mr. Lady's comment. HI-larious!!!
  • jnbammer · 1 year ago
Pitocin doesn't work for men, but hey, love the other things ML!

What brings out the kid in me?

We are as yet childless, and watching my husband play with our friends three-year-old twins brings out the kid in me. Before I know it, I am on the ground, playing, racing, and giggling with all of them.

They even celebrated his brithday with him the other day...That kind of joy bring out the kid in me.
  • Brian · 1 year ago
My wife told me to enter...

I have been stressed out lately because of going back to school tomorrow...So we went to celebrate my upcoming birthday with our friends' twins...Talk about instant stress bust...I felt better than I had in weeks.
  • jason · 1 year ago
Cool contest...and sponsored too. I'll have to enter.
  • Matt · 1 year ago
OK Jeremy....I am SURE you have other things on your mind right now, but I have posted my entry (I really really want to win that candy, man.) on The Playpen. Check it out when you have time....the link is in my profile.

BTW, cool contest...I enjoyed writing this!

Getting on the floor with my triplets and trying to make them laugh brings out the kid in me. I would do just about anything silly to make them laugh!

What brings out the kid in me?

Enjoying a popsicle on the back stoop during the summer, trying to eat all of it before it melts its sugary rainbow trickle down the stick onto my hand.

Chasing fireflies on a summer night in the backyard.

In winter, making a snow man with charcoal for eyes and a carrot for a nose. Don't forget a real knit cap and scarf. Of course, hot chocolate with marshmellows MUST follow.

Drawing with chalk on the sidewalk and hoping it doesn't rain for a few days so everyone can see my work.

Buying lemonade from the local kids' lemonade stand.

Rolling around on the floor with my daughter, making silly noises and pretending.

Taking time to smell the flowers in the neighborhood.

The pure unadulterated excitement of going to Disney World or any theme park within driving distance and then standing scared at the foot of the biggest roller coaster (doesn't get any easier even if I get older!)

Watching anticipating children on their best behavior on Christmas eve and the squeals of excitement on Christmas morning.

These things make me feel like a kid again.

Congratulations on the new one! I hope everything is going smoothly and worry-free for you!

I wrote a post about your topic here: http://littlebalddoctors.wordpress.com/2008/05/.... Thanks for the reason to take a trip back in time. Our summers are always crazy busy and I sometimes forget to stop and savor the things that make the memories in all the busy-making that happens during summer. This gave me a reason to slow down and think about the fun stuff. Thanks!

I have to admit - I love theme parks. I am a roller coaster junkie and there's something about that moment at the top of the biggest hill on the ride, right when you're about to go over the edge where the ride kind of stops just for a second and you hang there....it just makes you feel like there's pretty much nothing you could be doing that could possibly be that exciting. And, you know, there's kind of nothing that beats that feeling at the end of the day when you're walking around, and you're kind of a little bit sunburned but haven't noticed that much yet, and you have cotton candy and it's just starting to get dark and the ride lights start to come on. It's magic, I say! (Also, omg, I clearly haven't been to any parks this year yet, can you tell? *grin*)

One thing is definitely running through the sprinkler on a hot afternoon!

I'm a mother of 2 and 26 years old. It's amazing how you can feel so old and so young at the same time. I feel very mature, but get such a kick out of watching Spongebob and Scooby-Doo with the kids. My daughter and I have started quoting cartoon lines to each other and cackle like fiends over our own cleverness.
I still have to avoid candy stores like the plague...if I walk through that door I WILL walk out with at least 2 bags of peach rings and rock candy.
I'm a high junkie as well and hit the amusement parks hard. A good day is a day when I have a headache from too many roller coasters.
It's very true that the kid in you never disappears, it's just a matter of how much you've buried that kid.

The small group of my closest friends. We all love gardening, card making, cooking, etc.
We go on weekend trips to out of state craft shows, flower shows and anything we want. We have wonderful families that take over while we are gone having fun! In our hotel room, we are like a bunch of school girls again.....We laugh so hard, we cry. Thanks,Cindi

What brings out the kid in me...
After the birth of our first child, I swear I was 10 years younger, gooing & gaaing. That has now turned into ticking them till they scream, pillow fights, playing cars on the floor and eating food at "their restaurant" every weekend morning.
I was not lucky enough to have a good father, but that life experiance has taught me to enjoy every laugh, tantrum, kiss & knee to the groin (well maybe not that!)

im already in 20's right now but there are still times or events that really would bring the kid in me! like, i really love to go to carnivals and even playing basketball with my 5yr old nephew.. and also when i treat my niece, we go for ice creams and other sweets!
i really love to win the prizes! hope i'll win! thanks a lot!

    Wow. What a cool contest!

I've been looking at the Wii for quite a while now, and I KNOW it would definitely make me more kid-like, which would be so awesome, dude! (Trying for early pubescence-speak...is it working for ya?)

Current kid-like (compared to juvenile) activities: I am a junkie for thrill rollercoasters. I also love cannonballing into the pool and splashing around, and my absolute fave has got to be pool volleyball.

I hope I get the chance to win the Wii. Thanks!
  • kspin · 1 year ago
Spending time with my sisters ALWAYS takes me back to being a kid. This post explains it best... http://kspinning.wordpress.com/2007/12/17/obnox...

Glad to hear that 'MUM' and baby girl are doing well.

What brings out the child in me is the stoooooopid rule that I can't win the Nintendo Wii!!

    *boohoo*
    *stamps foot*
    *cries*

    Why can't I win? It isn't fair!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Would love to enter, but with my luck I'd win!

Why would that be bad? Because I'd either have to reveal my real name or forfeit the prize.

    Such is life.

I loved writing this post. It made me think of wonderful memories. I hope I can create just as wonderful memories for my niece.

Congratulations on your new little one.

Hello. What a fun idea for a contest. What brings out the kid in me? Basically, there are two things I do with the kids in which I actually totally forget all that annoying grown up stuff... bills, deadlines... for at least a few minutes. It's singing and dancing (we put on a Laurie Berkner DVD and stomp around) and it's painting/art. It's just impossible to be all serious while you're yelling, "Buzz Buzz" or finger painting.
